Northern circuit with the annual wildebeest migration
This Wildlife Safari is designed to give you the best chances of seeing the exciting annual wildebeest migration between Tanzania’s Serengeti endless plains and the Maasai Mara of Kenya. A short drive from the hustle and bustle of Arusha, the safari capital, to Lake Manyara National Park where, if luck is on your side you may see the famous tree climbing lions during your game drives of the garden of Eden. You spend a night at Isoitok Camp Manyara being located in the heart of the Maasai community of Esilalei and gain a deeper understanding of the traditional culture, beliefs and practices of the Maasai tribes whilst enjoying jaw dropping views of The Great Rift Valley. Next stop is the Ngorongoro Crater, home to some of the last black rhinos to be found in East Africa. This northern circuit safari will deliver you to the moving masses of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra. Spend 4 days with unlimited game drives of both central and northern Serengeti and if timing and luck are on your side you may see a wildebeest river crossing of the Mara River. The Safari accommodation selected throughout this wildlife safari is in the best locations bringing prime game viewing to your door step during this season. To make the most of your safari experience and game drives in Tanzania you will board a scenic flight out of Serengeti to either head to the white sand beaches of Zanzibar or to connect with your international flight.

Day 1: Arrival JRO - Arusha
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport – you will be collected by your driver guide and transfer to Ahadi Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Manyara National Park
After breakfast depart towards Lake Manyara National Park for game drives of this very diverse park. If you are lucky you may see the famous tree climbing lions. Picnic lunch in the bush followed by game drives until mid-afternoon – then slowly make your way out of the park and head to Isoitok Camp Manyara. Stretch your legs a bit – together with your local maasai guide hike up to the viewpoint where you enjoy the sunset with views across Lake Manyara. Return to the camp for bush-showers and relaxation around the camp fire.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
Morning departure to the Ngorongoro Crater - descend into the crater for full day game drives of the crater floor. There are 25,000 large mammals residing in the park, elephants are mainly bulls, females stay out of the park due to the largest predator population in Africa. Black Rhino also make their home on the grassy plains, their numbers make up for almost half which can be found in East Africa about 20 in total. Leave the crater late afternoon and head up to the crater rim - continue to Rhino Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Seronera - central Serengeti
After breakfast you head via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards the Serengeti plains – game drives en route to Seronera. Head over to the Rock Kopjes where you have good chances of seeing some of the cat families. Cheetah and lion use this giant rock out crops as observation posts. Mid afternoon head up towards Kisura Serengeti Camp located in central Serengeti – arrival in time for sundowner drinks.

Day 5: Seronera - central Serengeti
Optional: Early morning head out for a Balloon flight. View the Serengeti plains from a hot air
Balloon followed by a champagne breakfast on the landing site.
Full day game drives of the Serengeti – plan your day together with your driver guide who will best advice you when and where to go.
O/n Kisura Serengeti Camp (B, L, D)
Day 6: Northern Serengeti
After breakfast you slowly start the drive towards the northern part of the park in order to try and catch a glimpse of the annual wildebeest migration – explore the river and head up to Serengeti North Wilderness Camp for relaxation and overnight.
O/n Chaka Camp (B, L, D)
Day 7: Northern Serengeti
Dawn game drives of the area – return to the camp for breakfast followed by full day game drives or relaxation at the camp and head out on sunset game drives. Plan your day together with your driver guide and explore the river shores.

Day 8: Return to JRO and departure
Early morning game drives en route to the Kogatende Airstrip where you connect with your domestic flight to Kilimanjaro Airport were you connect with your international flight back home. (B, L)
