An easy paced walking safari of the Shira Plateau in Kilimanjaro National Park just to keep you moving and active!! Then we begin to move northward, diving deeper into Maasai Culture with an overnight stop at Isoitok Camp Manyara, nestled in the heart of the Maasai lands and overlooking The Great Rift Valley. We then continue the wildlife safari heading into Serengeti National Park for unlimited game drives exploring all areas of the park over a few days! The famous Ngorongoro Crater is next on the safari menu and if you thought it ended here you still have one last cultural experience to witness and take part in by visiting the Hadzabe bushmen in Lake Eyasi with a wonderful relaxed stay at Kisima Ngeda tented camp.  This is a great all-round Tanzania safari unveiling some of the traditions and cultures that are very much alive to this day with wildlife and walking safaris to keep the avid nature lover content beyond your wildest dreams.

Below, we go through the adventure day-by-day, giving you a better feel of the adventure.

Day 1: Arrival

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport – you will be collected by your driver guide and transfer to Arusha where you enjoy a dinner and overnight at Ahadi Lodge.

Day 2: Arusha National Park

After breakfast drive the short distance to Arusha National Park where you head out on an easy walking safari with an armed ranger. Walk through open plains and the lower slopes of Mt. Meru over to waterfalls. Get a different perspective of viewing wildlife from the ground level. There are also good chances of seeing black and white Colobus monkey.Leave the park mid afternoon and return to Arusha.

Day 3: Arusha - West Kilimanjaro

Morning departure to Kambi ya Tembo, located in West Kilimanjaro where you arrive in time for hot lunch followed by game drives of the Amboseli plains (Tanzanian side). Return to the camp at your own leisure and enjoy sundowner drinks followed by dinner and overnight,

Day 4: Shira Plateau - West Kilimanjaro

Early breakfast, then start the hike up to the Shira Plateau inside Kilimanjaro National Park. Enjoy the landscape and the stunning views – picnic lunch on the way.The hike will take approximately 5-6 hours depending on the pace and you will arrive back at the camp mid afternoon.

Day 5: Maasai cultural experience

After a leisurely breakfast you start the drive via Arusha to the Maasai community of Esilalei. Meet with your local Maasai guide who will introduce you to his village. Get a better understanding of the natural medicines still used on a daily basis with a Maasai medicine walk of the surrounding area. Then continue down to a Boma (mud dwelling) for an introduction into the Maasai way of life, beliefs and rituals.

Freshen up and enjoy a real cultural experience around the fire place with traditional song and dance.

Day 6: Game drives en route to Serengeti

Morning wake-up call with bird chorus. After breakfast you head via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the endless plains of Serengeti. Game drive en-route to central Serengeti – explore the many different areas of the park, your driver guide will advice on the best places to visit.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park

A full day of game drives in Serengeti National Park. Head over to the Rock Kopjes where you have good chances of seeing some of the cat families. Cheetah and lion use this giant rock out crops as observation posts.

Day 8: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

Morning game drives of the Serengeti – you will leave the plains mid morning and then start the drive via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Rhino Lodge located just off the Ngorongoro Crater rim.

Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater

Early morning departure to the Ngorongoro Crater and descend into the crater for game drives. There are 25,000 large mammals residing in the park. The elephants are mainly bulls; females stay out of the park due to it boasting the largest predator population in Africa.Black Rhino also make their home on the grassy plains, their numbers make up for almost half of what can still be found in East Africa; about 20 in total. Leave the crater early afternoon and transfer to Kisima Ngeda Tented Camp in the Lake Eyasi Area.

Day 10: Hadzabe bushmen and Datoga Tribes

Dawn wakeup call in order to see the Hazabe bushman begin their day – try your hand at starting a fire using nothing but a stick!! Head off with some of the men and boys on a hunting posy. The Hazabe are skilful archers and will take anything that moves out there, if you have been successful in the hunt local bush breakfast fur feathers and all!! Return to the camp for a real breakfast and to freshen up.In the afternoon you visit the Datoga Tribes as well as the local blacksmith – return to the camp at your own leisure.

Day 11: Return to Arusha

After breakfast you board the safari vehicle and slowly start the transfer back to Arusha – arrival at Shanga Shanga early afternoon where you enjoy a hot lunch in the lush gardens. Visit the glass workshop and gift shop before heading to Ahadi Lodge for the last night.

Day 12: Departure

Depending on your international flight departure – transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home. (B)
