An optional early morning hot air balloon flight offering a bird’s eye view of the endless plains of Serengeti ecosystem and as you move northward if timing is right you can witness the biggest natural wildlife show on earth with the annual wildebeest migration. A scenic flight will deliver you back to Kilimanjaro International airport where you can connect to with you onward journey home or continue with domestic flights to any of the Islands or mainland beach destinations.

Below, we go through the adventure day-by-day, giving you a better feel of the adventure.

Day 1: JRO Arrival - Arusha

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport – you will be collected by your driver guide and transfer to Machweo Retreat for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Manyara National Park

After breakfast depart towards Lake Manyara National Park for game drives of this very diverse park. If you are lucky you may see the famous tree climbing lions. Picnic lunch in the bush followed by game drives until mid-afternoon – then slowly make your way out of the park and head to Isoitok Camp Manyara. Stretch your legs a bit – together with your local maasai guide hike up to the viewpoint where you enjoy the sunset with views across Lake Manyara. Return to the camp for bush-showers and relaxation around the camp fire.

Optional: After an early dinner at camp, return to Lake Manyara National Park where you join the night game drive vehicle – head out with a big spot light for game drives in the night. Return to the camp late evening.

Day 3: Esilalei Maasai Community

Morning departure to the Ngorongoro Crater - descend into the crater for full day game drives of the crater floor. There are 25,000 large mammals residing in the park, elephants are mainly bulls, females stay out of the park due to the largest predator population in Africa. Black Rhino also make their home on the grassy plains, their numbers make up for almost half which can be found in East Africa about 20 in total. Leave the crater late afternoon and head up to the crater rim - continue to Ngorongoro Lemala Camp for dinner and overnight – enjoy the views into the crater.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater

Day 5: Serengeti National Park - Seronera

After breakfast you head via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards the Serengeti plains – game drives en route to Seronera area (central Serengeti). Head over to the Rock Kopjes where you have good chances of seeing some of the cat families. Cheetah and lion use this giant rock out crops as observation posts. Mid afternoon you head towards Lemala Ewanjan Camp located in central Serengeti where you arrive in time for sundowner drinks.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park - Seronera

Optional: Early morning head out for a Balloon flight. View the Serengeti plains from a hot air balloon followed by champagne breakfast on the landing site.

Full day game drives of the Serengeti – plan your day together with your driver guide who will best advice you when and where to go.

O/n Lemala Ewanjan Camp (B, L, D)

Day 7: Serengeti National Park - Mara River

After breakfast you slowly start the drive towards the northern part of the park in order to try and catch a glimpse of the annual wildebeest migration – explore the river and head up to Kuria Hills for relaxation and overnight.

Day 8: Serengeti National Park - Mara River

Dawn game drives of the area – return to the camp for breakfast followed by full day game drives or relaxation at the camp and head out on sunset game drives. Plan your day together with your driver guide and explore the river shores.

Day 9: Serengeti National Park - Mara River

Another full day of game drives in the Kogatende area using the lodge as a temporary base to head out from. Your driver guidw will best advice you when and where to head out.

Day 10: Serengeti - JRO and departure

Early morning game drives en route to the Kogatende Airstrip where you connect with your domestic flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight connection back home. (B, L)
